Two Moons and the World

I don't know where you came from

Always near, but out of reach,

Out of sight, as if we were

Two moons orbiting a world

One on each end

But in a rare eclipse

I saw your shadow

Breaking from my well worn path,

I chased what was a whim

And, I do believe, you saw me

You look at me, and smile

But continue on your revolution

But I wonder,

Was I able to get this close

On my own?

Is What I see an illusion?

A curtain of my imagination"s

Creation, fashioned to reduce

The glare of our sun?

Or am I seeing the universe

As is?

Will you come to me, as

I've come to you, and walk

Through this veil, shattering

This pall of confusion?

Do you even see it?

Dou you even see me?

It matters not, for I've

Already changed our world's

Waters, and the waves move

Anew

I'm sorry world, but take

a look at what I've seen,

And you too may have

Broken free to chase

Wonder

You have traveled too fast over false ground;

Now your soul has come to take you back.

Take refuge in your senses, open up

To all the small miracles you rushed through.

Become inclined to watch the way of rain

When it falls slow and free.

Imitate the habit of twilight,

Taking time to open the well of color

That fostered the brightness of day.

Draw alongside the silence of stone

Until its calmness can claim you.”
